Success Stories

Ning Tang

ACG University of Auckland pathway student Ning Tang has dreams of becoming a primary school teacher, but wasn’t absolutely certain if this was the right career for her.

She asked Pathways Counsellor Amanda Henry for advice, and Ms Henry wondered if it might be possible to arrange for Ning to spend some time in a primary school so she could have some first-hand experience.

Epsom Normal Primary School deputy principal Shoba Segar graciously allowed Ning to visit and spend time with three different classes. Ning had a great time and was both grateful for and excited by this opportunity, and now feels more committed than ever to her aspirations of being a primary teacher.

She recommends other students seek and take advantage of such opportunities.
