Polina Kozlova

It’s been ten years since Polina Kozlova first came to New Zealand from Russia to study English at ACG English School. After two consecutive stints learning English, she decided to finish her high school years in New Zealand at ACG and enrolled at ACG Senior College.

“It was a great learning atmosphere, I found, at ACG Senior College. The teachers are excellent and what stood out for me is the independence of learning. You have to be motivated to study and no one babysits you. That is what university life is like, and the school was a great preparatory step for my university years,” she said.

When she graduated from ACG, Polina undertook an LLB at the Auckland University of Technology (AUT). This year she completed her profs and bar admission process, was admitted to the court, and is now working as a solicitor for an Auckland firm, Brookfields Lawyers.

She is drawn to the flexibility and possibilities that her education has provided.

“The great thing about a legal degree is that it can be used in so many ways, through many different pathways. Since childhood, entrepreneurship has been my aspiration. That is, until I found law is also my aspiration! I’m not sure yet how the two will align in the future, but you never know – time will tell.”

Outside work, Polina is a fitness enthusiast and tennis player. “I also love to read, go for walks and spend time with my Yorkshire terrier, Holly. She is the most important member of the family and gets our full attention!
